BFA Show and Photoshoot

Image
This week was a busy one. With the installation of my BFA display and the finalizing of the burning barrel brand, this week saw a great coming together of my senior project. One of the key objectives for this week was to take final photos of my packaging and branding materials that I designed for the Burning Barrel brand. This process went down without a hitch, minus dealing with the obstacle of a small but curious cat. The final selected images will be put together and submitted with the other final products created for the Burning Barrel brand. This week also saw my area in the BFA show installed. This process was long due to the fact that my three hanging posters were going to be screen printed rather than printed digitally. Additionally, I originally planed for a folding table to be included in my display, but due to its unneeded size, I changed out that idea and installed two stacked wooden shelves that are being used to hold my BBQ sauce packaging and other elements of m...

Preparing for the Senior Show

Image
This week saw the development of materials for the BFA Senior Show. I began printing materials such as developing the coaster set, printing the food truck and exterior building designs, and the prototyping of two plastic BBQ Sauce packaging. These plastic BBQ Sauces will be able to stay on the tables rather than making me go into a back room with my glass bottles. Below is the mockup of my section for the BFA show and the prototypes that I created so far. On the back wall of the mockup you can see a set of three posters. These are going to be screen prints done in my screen-printing class. They are going to be sized 19" x 24" and will be two-to-three color prints. Below are a closeup on these posters. This coming Tuesday will be the initial setup of my display. The posters will be put up slowly as they are completed. I will also be photographing my packaging this week to document my designs.

Bourbon Label

Image
This week saw the development of my bourbon label for Burning Barrels signature small batch blend of bourbon. I wanted something that was clean and modern while staying true to the look and feel of the Burning Barrel brand. This label follows closely to the BBQ sauce labels that were finalized a few weeks back. Below are some images of the prototype that I created. Those are some quick photos of the label that I created. This past week was very productive and being able to develop a working prototype of the bourbon labels was a large step. Next week will see the revision stage of this label and the beginning of setup for final printing and photography of the Burning Barrel elements.

BBQ Packaging Revisions and Final Prototyping

Image
This week saw the perfecting and final prototyping for the BBQ sauce packaging. I worked on some small changes such copy issues, spacing, colors, creating of a neck tab with the logo, and label application in the prototyping. Additionally, I created a third flavor of BBQ sauce, creation a nice trio set of sauces for Burning Barrel to sell. Below are some images showing the prototyping of the sauce packaging. This is the final set of prototypes that will be shown at the senior show and that will be photographed for documentation, presentation, and the creation of advertisements and social media posts. Over the upcoming weeks, I will set up a photography studio in order to take high-quality photos of this packaging. The big project for this upcoming week is to choose a bourbon bottle and develop a set of two bourbon packaging. More on this process will be posted next week.
